“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
— Rumi
Welcome!
As an immigrant woman of color, my personal journey has been focused on finding a balance between exploring who I am, understanding myself, and finding ways to connect and feel a sense of belonging. My first-hand life experiences, academic training, and years of practice have culminated in my unique style of therapy, focused specifically on helping people of the immigrant and BIPOC communities.
If I had to choose two words to describe my core principles in life as well as in work, they would be compassion and empathy. My relationship with and respect for the natural world has helped me hone these principles within myself. I value time spent in nature, hiking with my dogs, as well as exploring new places, trying new vegetarian foods, and celebrating the diversity of our world and the people in it.
In my practice, I encourage my patients to be curious, compassionate, and accepting toward themselves and others. Patients begin by exploring their values, interests, strengths, and vulnerabilities to gain a deeper understanding. Then they are informed and empowered to work on creating healthy and loving relationships — as their authentic selves — with their partners and their community.
